How to Use Sensa
• What if I run out early? Do I discard excess at end of month or finish it?If you run out early do not be alarmed, simply move on to the next month of Tastants. The two sets of Tastants per month should last you approximately 30 days, so if you are finishing way ahead of schedule, you may want to try using the Tastants a bit more sparingly next month.
• What if I have Tastants left over after 30 days? After each month you should move on to the next set of Tastants. This is because your body can become accustomed to the Tastants and they will not be as effective if you use them for longer than 30 days. Dr. Hirsch has specifically developed new and different Tastants for each month to ensure that you continue losing weight. If you have a significant amount of Tastants left, try using more the next month.
• How much do I sprinkle exactly?Sprinkle Sensa evenly on the entire surface of your food. The amount of Tastants depends on how large your meal is, so just use your best judgment and don't over think it.
• Do I sprinkle before or after cooking? The Tastants should not be used before or while cooking your food. Sensa works best when you sprinkle it right before eating. This way, your sense of smell can properly interact with the Tastants.
• Can I sprinkle my food when I am packing my lunch or do I have to do it just before eating? We recommend sprinkling Sensa on your food right before you eat to achieve maximum results.
• What happens at month 7?If you wish to continue with the program past month 6, you should start the system over with month 1.
• Why do you have to switch to Month 2 if you still have some Month 1 left over?Depending on how much you eat, you may have extra Tastants at the end of the month. You would still move to the next month's Tastants. This is because your body can become accustomed to the Tastants and will not be as effective if you use them for longer than 30 days. Dr. Hirsch has specifically developed new and different Tastants for each month to ensure that you continue losing weight. If you find that you have a lot of Tastants left over, then you should sprinkle more Tastants on your food the next month.
• Do I need to put more Sensa on leftovers if I already put it on the first time?To ensure that your sense of smell is properly engaged we recommend you re-sprinkle leftovers with a second round of Sensa.
• How do I get it to stick to foods like grapes, nuts or pretzels? Some users have found that spraying a fine mist of water to grapes or strawberries to get the Tastants to stick is effective. You can also sprinkle Sensa over the plate or in the bag (chips or pretzels) so that the Tastants touch all of your food.
• If I eat something like pasta or salad, do I have to re-sprinkle when I have eaten the top layer? As long as you sprinkle Sensa over the entire surface of your meal, there is no need to resprinkle each layer.
• Why doesn't Sensa get used in liquids?Sensa works best when sprinkled on top of foods, because it can properly interact with the olfactory senses. Dr. Hirsch found Sensa was not effective in liquids due to the saturation of the Tastants.
• How do you use Sensa in soup or smoothies? You do not need to use Sensa in soup or smoothies, only solid or semi-solid foods. You can use Sensa on cereals, chili or a hearty soup that has meat, vegetables or noodles.
• Is it possible to sprinkle too much Sensa? If you are finding that you are running out of Tastants long before the month is over, you may be using too much. There is no need to worry if you have used too much Sensa, just think about using less next time.
• Do you use Sensa on things like hard candy?Yes, you should use Sensa on everything you eat for best results.
• What does it taste like?Sensa Tastants should not affect the taste of your food. Some users have reported a subtle enhancement of flavor, but you should not be able to notice a significant difference in the taste and smell.
• Can I put Sensa in my coffee, juice, or milk?Sensa is not effective in liquids. If you currently consume a lot of high calorie beverages (soda, fruit juice, alcoholic drinks) you may want to consider cutting back while you are on Sensa so as not to hinder your progress.
• How should I store my Sensa?Sensa should be stored in a cool, dry place. For best results, once opened, Sensa should be used within 30 days.
• I'm embarrassed to use Sensa in front of others; can I pour the Tastants in to a new unmarked package? If you feel more comfortable using an unmarked container, it should be opaque and airtight to maintain quality.
Sensa Ingredients
• What exactly is in Sensa?Sensa contains Maltodextrin (Derived from Corn from the USA), Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Natural and Artificial Flavors. Sensa also contains Soy and Milk ingredients. Sensa is sodium- free, sugar-free, calorie free, gluten-free, and there are no stimulants, drugs or MSG.
• Is Sensa Kosher? While Sensa does not contain any ingredients that would be considered non-kosher, the product and facilities have not yet been certified Kosher. Although some of the Tastants contain soy and milk ingredients, all of the Tastants are meat-free.
• What are the natural and artificial flavorings? The exact combinations of the Sensa blends are proprietary and patent-pending. However, no flavors are derived from meat sources and there is no mushroom, nutmeg, cinnamon, fish or garlic. Some flavors may contain milk and soy derived ingredients.
• Is there Soy and Milk in the product?Soy and Milk ingredients may be found as constituents of some of the natural and artificial flavoring agents. The Soy in Sensa is Soy-Lecithin.
• What is Maltodextrin? The Maltodextrin in Sensa is made up of easily digestible carbohydrates made from natural corn starch.
• Is it FDA approved? As a food product, FDA approval is not required for Sensa. All of Sensa's ingredients are on the FDA designation list of GRAS - Generally Recognized as Safe.
• Is this a Vegan product? Some flavors may contain milk ingredients
• Why is my Sensa a different color this month? Each month of Sensa contains a completely different patent-pending blend of salty and sweet. Both the sweet and salty combinations per month may vary in color due to the natural ingredients used to make the product. You may specifically notice the sweet side of Month 4 is a beige tone and the sweet side of Month 5 is a cocoa color. This is perfectly normal.
What to Expect
• I have gained weight, what's going on?Sensa is non-caloric and alone would not produce weight gain. The most likely reason that someone would gain weight when they begin Sensa is that they are not yet in tune with their body's hunger signals. Eat slowly, and pay attention, as soon as you START to feel full you should stop eating. Also if you are already on another weight loss program or diet at the time that you start Sensa, you should continue on that program and use Sensa in addition to it. Sensa should not be used as a substitute for an existing diet plan you are on.
• I'm eating more often - what's up?Everyone reacts to the Tastants differently. Even though you are eating more often you are probably still consum- ing less calories overall. In fact having smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day is a highly effective way to boost your metabolism.
• How long will it take until I lose weight? There is no "typical" timeline for losing weight with Sensa. Although many people lose weight in the very first month, everyone experiences weight loss differently. Stick with the system and you will lose weight.
• What if I am still eating my entire meal?It is completely normal to eat your entire meal with Sensa. However, since you are trying to lose weight, it is important that you stop eating when your body signals "satiety" or "fullness." You should stop at the onset of these signals, not once you are already feeling full.
• What if I still feel hungry?Go ahead and eat. Just be sure to use Sensa on every single meal and snack, from your morning cereal, to salads, chocolate chip cookies and potato chips. Consistency is the key. Get in the habit!
• What long-term results can I expect? Many study participants reported continued weight loss. We believe this may be because the body gradually adjusts over time to smaller portions, making it easier to practice moderation. Exercise and healthy eating are also encouraged to achieve long-term sustainable weight loss.
• Can I use Sensa if I want to lose less than 30 pounds?Sensa is effective for anyone who wants to lose weight, regardless of the amount.
Usage Restrictions
• How old do I have to be to use Sensa?Sensa has been studied on adults only, so there is no data available about its effectiveness in helping children lose weight. As a result, we do not recommend our products for use by children.
• Can I use Sensa if I am breastfeeding, have diabetes, high blood pressure, or have any other medical condition or concern? While the ingredients found in Sensa are safe, we recommend that you consult your physician before using Sensa or starting any weight-loss plan if you have any medical concerns whatsoever.
• What if I have completely lost my sense of taste and smell, will this work for me?Unfortunately, Sensa will not be effective if you have no sense of taste or smell, and may be less effective for those with diminished sense of taste or smell.
